Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) is gearing up as Presenting Sponsor of the 23rd Annual Rock’N Race to benefit Concord Hospital Health System’s Payson Center for Cancer Care. The 5K run/walk through Downtown Concord will take place at the State House on Wednesday, May 7th at 6:00 pm to raise funds for programs and services available to cancer patients and their families.
“The Merrimack looks forward to the Rock’N Race every year, whether we’re running, walking or volunteering,” said Linda Lorden, President of The Merrimack. “The event brings us together as a community to support our family, friends and neighbors affected by cancer.”
Rock‘N Race provides funding for the Payson Center for Cancer Care’s HOPE Resource Center, which supports programs, social work, nutritional counseling, complementary therapies and financial guidance at no cost to patients and their families. Since 2003, the event has raised over $6 million for the HOPE Resource Center.
The Rock’N Race is more than just a race, it directly supports the 1,600+ new patients and existing patients that visit the Payson Center for Cancer Care,” said Chief Advancement Officer Veronica Rosa. “Last year, the race raised over $339,000 thanks to the generosity of the participants, donors and sponsors – like The Merrimack.”
As one of Concord Hospital Health System’s five centers of excellence, Payson Center for Cancer Care offers a comprehensive array of services, including cancer-related specialists, diagnostic technology, radiation, and medical oncology, surgery, rehabilitation, outreach, screening, early detection programs, spiritual care, and financial counseling, among many other resources and amenities.
