Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) welcomes Scott Nichols to its growing Commercial Lending Team as Vice President Commercial Loan Officer. In this role, Nichols will work with local businesses in the Greater Concord area to support their unique financial needs and achieve their financial goals.
“Scott is a great addition to the team,” said David Peterson, SVP Commercial Lending and Team Leader at The Merrimack. “He joins us with more than two decades of experience in the banking industry, half of which he spent working with small businesses in Vermont and New Hampshire.”
Nichols started his career in banking 25 years ago as Vice President Branch Manager in Newton, Massachusetts, before moving back to his home state of Vermont, where he served as Branch Manager, Small Business Loan Officer and Financial Consultant in Chittenden County. Several years later, Nichols had the opportunity to help create a commercial lending department at a credit union, serving as the Business Lending Manager for 13 years.
Nichols is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and the Wisconsin School of Business. Originally from Rutland County, Vermont, Nichols was a long-time volunteer and youth hockey coach in Hanover, New Hampshire and Hartford, Vermont. He recently moved to Hooksett, just one of the many communities The Merrimack serves.
