Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) is proud to announce that Matt Thomas (NMLS #523419), Mortgage Loan Officer, has been named the 2021 Top Loan Originator among New Hampshire banks for the third year in a row.
According to the data collected by the Warren Group and published in the Registry Review, New Hampshire’s Statewide Real Estate and Financial Newspaper, Thomas ranked #1 statewide for both volume and number of loans. He also ranked #1 in Southeast New Hampshire for both volume and number of loans. Statewide, Thomas processed nearly 300 loans totaling roughly $78,361,000. A majority of those loans were for real estate purchases in Southwest New Hampshire including includes Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford counties.
A certified Mortgage Professional with the Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association of NH, Thomas has been a Mortgage Loan Officer with The Merrimack for his entire 24-year career with the Bank and says he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thomas is no stranger to receive accolades, he was voted World’s Best Dad by his kids from 1998-2010. He currently resides in Weare with his wife, Sharon, where he served on the Weare School Board for 15 years. Like a true Granite Stater, Thomas enjoys hockey and was an NHIAA Ice Hockey Official for over 20 years. He also coached in the Henniker Youth Hockey Association, as well as the Concord Capitals Youth Hockey Association.
