Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) has appointed James “Jamie” P. Burnett III to join their Board of Directors after serving as a corporator for the Bank over the past two years.
“We are thrilled Jamie has joined our Board,” said Linda Lorden, President of The Merrimack. “Jamie has an impressive background in government relations and his deep ties to the state make him a valuable asset in ensuring that we are serving our local people to the best of our ability.”
An accomplished public policy professional with more than 20 years of experience, Burnett is a well-known figure in Greater Concord and statewide. Most recently named to the NH Business Review’s list of most influential business leaders for 2022, Burnett currently serves as a consultant and owner of Sight Line Public Affairs LLC. Since 2019, he has been providing strategic advice to industry-leading companies and trade associations.

Prior to owning his own consulting practice, Burnett was the legislative director to U.S. Senator John E. Sununu and legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Judd Gregg in Washington, DC. Burnett is a longtime community leader who has served as a volunteer director for several nonprofit and advisory boards. He was appointed to the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees by Governor Chris Sununu in April 2017 and currently serves as vice chair. He is also a trustee for the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation and a director for the Business & Industry Association and UNH Foundation. Burnett is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and resides in Concord with his family.
