Sister companies, Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) and MillRiver Wealth Management (MillRiver) have pledged $30,000 to The Community Players of Concord (The Players) in the form of sponsorships to be spread over the course of three consecutive years.
The Community Players of Concord is in the midst of a fundraising push to fund the renovation, repair and future capital needs of their studio home in East Concord, where auditions, rehearsals, set building and workshops take place. It is also at the studio where thousands of costumes, props and set pieces are warehoused and stored. Volunteer-run and operated, The Community Players of Concord creates high quality productions at the Concord City Auditorium featuring performances from local citizens of all ages and walks of life.
“We’re elated with the wonderful generosity of The Merrimack and MillRiver,” said Chris Demers, President of The Players. “Our organization is a true labor of love, dependent on the generous volunteers and community members who support our mission. We pool our resources together to bring forth outstanding work that everyone can enjoy. In turn, we also lend out and donate those resources to other theatre groups, schools, civic organizations and churches—anything from costumes to props to equipment. The sponsorship pledge from both The Merrimack and MillRiver ensures the longevity of the art that’s created right here in Concord.”
“We’re thrilled to support this local treasure,” said Linda Lorden, President of Merrimack County Savings Bank. “Our companies and employees are committed to enduring community leadership and believe in responsible individual and corporate actions. The Players gives people the opportunity to participate as volunteers and performers for the benefit of the entire community.”
“MillRiver and The Merrimack take stewardship very seriously,” added Paul Provost, President of MillRiver Wealth Management. “We make it a point to stand behind local organizations that help make it a better place to live for all. It’s truly an honor to support The Players in any way we can.”
