Concord, NH – April 17, 2015 –Jonathan Ruggles, Director of Merrimack County Savings Bank, and Trustee of the Bank’s holding company, New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp, announced his retirement from both boards on March 17, 2015. Ruggles was elected to the Bank board in May 2007. Prior to that appointment, Ruggles served Bow Mills Bank and Trust for 20 years as a founding Director.
“During his eight years of service, Jon fulfilled his duties as Trustee and Director as well as member of the Audit, Compensation and Investment Committees with great care,” said Paul Rizzi, President and CEO of Merrimack County Savings Bank. “Jon’s wisdom, knowledge, judgment and common sense have provided sound guidance and direction over his many years of service. His strong sense of integrity helped perpetuate the Merrimack as well as Bow Mills Bank and Trust as fair and ethical providers of high quality financial services. His friendship and presence will be missed.”
“My time on the board has been satisfying. I wish the Merrimack well in all future endeavors,” said Ruggles.
Ruggles helped oversee the partnership between The Merrimack and Meredith Village Savings Bank to form New Hampshire’s first and only mutual holding company, New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp in January 2013. Each affiliate bank retains its name and state charter, sharing the common goal of building a vigorous alliance between the two well-capitalized, healthy, independent community banks.
Ruggles also helped oversee the acquisition of Bow Mills Bank and Trust in 2007, which grew the Merrimack’s branch total from four locations to seven. Today, Merrimack County Savings Bank has eight branches in Bow, Concord, Contoocook, Hooksett and Nashua.
